The best way to consolidate your skills and build confidence on multi-pitch terrain is to get out on real rock \u2014 and near Santiago you'll find perfect routes for exactly that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this article we share our recommendations for multi-pitch routes ideal for beginners in Chile, where you can apply what you've learned, develop independence, and keep practicing key techniques in a safe environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because after the course\u2026 the best thing you can do is keep climbing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Lo Curro<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This crag is located within Santiago itself, at the entrance to Cerro Manquehue via the V\u00eda Roja access. Its short approach and proximity to the city make it an excellent option for starting to practice multi-pitch climbing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Above the practice wall there is a terrace equipped with anchors \u2014 ideal for simulating multi-pitch maneuvers and safely practicing belay stations and rappels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find more details and topos for this crag at<a href=\"http:\/\/www.guiaescaladachile.com\/2011\/12\/lo-curro.html\"> Gu\u00eda Escalada Chile \u2013 Lo Curro<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Caj\u00f3n del maipo<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Torrecillas<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most well-known multi-pitch destinations near Santiago is <strong>Torrecillas<\/strong>, in the El Manzano area, Caj\u00f3n del Maipo. Its proximity, relatively straightforward access, and bolted routes make it very attractive for climbers looking to progress to longer routes. But be aware: <strong>Torrecillas is not a beginner's crag, even if some routes have accessible grades.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a demanding venue, especially due to the long runouts between bolts on older routes. Climbing here can be as psychological as it is physical \u2014 it's common to be several meters above your last piece of protection. A cool head, good route-reading ability, and solid technical skills are essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the event of an accident, rescues are complex and can take a long time. This makes it ideal for climbers building confidence on vertical terrain and technical maneuvers. For that reason, Jabbah is one of the best areas to apply what you've learned after a beginner multi-pitch course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But being beginner-friendly doesn't mean options are limited. Pared de Jabbah also has more challenging routes \u2014 from 5.10d to 5.11a multi-pitches \u2014 ideal for those with experience looking for bigger technical challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A useful tip: if you're visiting the crag for the first time and are just starting out, begin in <strong>Zone 1<\/strong>, where you'll find short multi-pitch routes (2 pitches) at lower grades.
