What will you experience on this trip?
This trip will offer you a unique experience: you will climb some of Cochamó’s most iconic routes, guided by local experts, all amidst towering ancient forests and spectacular landscapes. But this adventure is not just about big wall climbing. You will also immerse yourself in the valley’s arriero culture, discovering the traditions of the families who have lived here for generations.
You only need to get to Puerto Varas or Puerto Montt, and we’ll take care of the rest! Cochamó is 111 km from Puerto Montt, in the Los Lagos region, and to reach the mythical Valle de la Junta, you’ll hike 13 km that will lead you to a true granite paradise. At the start of the journey, we’ll load your gear onto pre-arranged horses, so you can enjoy the hike with ease, passing through ancient larches and vibrant forests.
Once in the valley, you’ll have your reserved spot at the campsite, with a tent ready for you to set up, meet other climbers, and plan the challenges for the following days. Climbing days start early, with approaches to valleys like Trinidad and the Anfiteatro, and after a full day of climbing, you’ll return to camp to rest.
At the end of the guided days, a horse will be ready to assist you in descending with your gear, and we will take you back to Puerto Varas so you can continue your journey through Chile.

Weather
Cochamó offers excellent climbing windows, often more stable than in other destinations like Torres del Paine or El Chaltén. However, rain is a factor to consider. To maximize your time in the valley, our team carefully plans the logistics, always seeking the best conditions so you can make the most of your experience.
Logistics

The logistics may seem overwhelming, but don't worry; we take care of everything to make it simple and enjoyable.
If you're wondering how to carry your gear and food, which walls dry fastest after the rain, or which routes to tackle first, we’re here to help. We customize each experience so you can focus solely on enjoying the climbing while we take care of the details.
